Made of steel. Not plastic.

A plastic charger with a cracked screen charges zero vehicles. Curbstar is a US-built, dual-plug, 40A commercial Level 2 charger in powder-coated steel armor.

Durable and reliable

EV chargers suffer from outages due to cracked screens, broken point of sale terminals, cheap plastic chassis and broken cables that can take months to fix.

Curbstar is made in the US and designed for maximum reliability. No screens, no point of sale terminals, and cable replacement is a 5-minute job that doesn’t take an electrician. Drivers pay from their phones, and because the electricity for Curbstar is on a separate utility account, you never have to wonder how much electricity is going into cars and how much is going into your copy machines.

Footprint and mounting template

Every unit ships with a pad mounting template.

It gives your contractor the exact location and dimensions of the service stub, the electrical bonding point and the mounting hardware, so the pad is set right the first time. The pedestal footprint is 19″ wide by 11.5″ deep.

Pad mounting template: four corner mounting holes, an electrical bonding point, and a 2 inch service stub, on a 19 by 11.5 inch footprint. Mounting hardware Electrical bonding 2″ service stub 19″ 11.5″

Two configurations

Most common

Ground mount

A freestanding pedestal on a pad, fed from a local utility transformer or from a nearby building. This is the configuration for curbsides, parking lots and anywhere the cars are not next to a wall.

  • Pad template with exact mounting and stub-up locations
  • Optional bollards where vehicles approach head on
  • Cable concealing option

Where there is a wall

Wall mount

The same electronics in a wall mountable chassis, fed from the customer structure. Lower cost, and often avoids a new transformer entirely.

  • Best for garages, parking decks and lots that hug a building
  • Feeds from existing building service where capacity allows
